On this website, the Child Development Institute
sought to share with parents some tips on building
self-esteem in their children. The website identifies
the differences in attitudes and behaviors of children
with low and high self-esteem. It gives parents 6
suggestions on how parents should interact with their
children so as to help their children maintain high
self-esteem. The page concludes with ten more steps
parents can take to help their children develop a
positive self-image.
Discussion Question:
What specific step can you take to better interact
with your child in terms of raising and/or maintaining
their self-esteem?
