Handwriting is an academic skill that allows children to express their thoughts and feelings and communicate their knowledge to others. It requires mastery of many skills and is informative about a child’s development. There are many fun activities that you can do with your child to improve their handwriting. Simple indoor and outdoor games that allow the children to use their gross and fine motors skills are great opportunities for children to improve their handwriting. Occupational therapy services are available if there is a developmental problem that may be causing their poor handwriting skills. What activities do you already do that promotes good handwriting skills? Maybe you did not realize it was a strategy that was helping your child!
